Description:
The Online Academic Counselor is responsible for assisting online students with academic guidance, technical support, and encouragement, being the main point of contact at CFNI for all online students. This position requires professionalism, reliability, good communication, empathy, teamwork, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- Computer programs (CAMS, Canvas LMS, ClickUp, Internet browsers, Google Suite, Microsoft Office)
- Good communication skills
- Organization
- Good time-management
Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide academic guidance to online students and help them keep track of their degree plan, upon request and also through scheduled academic advising sessions each online term.
- To assist new online students with registration and with getting familiar with the online platform Canvas.
- To assist students with any technical issues they might have when using the online learning platform.
- To provide all online students with excellent customer service through regular communication via phone calls, email and/or text message.
- To promote student retention by reminding returning students of registration deadlines via email, phone calls, and/or text messages.
- Contributing with general ideas for the growth and expansion of the online school, especially projects that focus on retention and enhancing student experience.
