General Technician

JOB SUMMARY
:

We are looking for a skilled General Technician to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.

Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years technical training or equivalent maintenance technician experience
  • Competencies in plumbing, electric and HVAC repairs with minimal assistance or supervision. CPO, HVAC, and EPA Certification valuable.
  • Competent skills regarding the operation of small hand and electrical tools, basic electrical, carpentry, painting and small machinery repair.
  • Working knowledge of appliances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with guests and staff members.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: 

Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following duties.

 

  • Maintains and repairs buildings’ plumbing and electrical systems, including but not limited to: replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses, faucets and valves
  • Deliver exceptional maintenance service across a wide spectrum of services, including but not limited to: Painting, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical
  • Maintain general units, common areas, and grounds as required.
  • Repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete
  • Reset/replace breakers, ballast and other electrical fixtures including switches and sockets; prevent and trouble shoot possible electric hazards
  • Operates equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks to keep them clean and clear of obstacles
  • Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure prompt response to guest requests for services and repairs
  • Assists in the security of the property including vehicles, tools, furniture, supplies, keys, and guests
  • Uses all materials, chemicals and tools safely to avoid waste, unnecessary damage or accidents
  • Participates in property safety and preventative maintenance programs to ensure a safe, hazard free working environment
  • Assist with setting up, tearing down and cleaning banquet and meeting rooms as required for CFNI events
  • Perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.
  • Familiarize yourself with Campus hierarchy, buildings and locations
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Able to lift/carry supplies or equipment of 50 lbs. or more with frequent reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling
