Description:
The Movers Lead is a responsible individual who can oversee all Institute Furniture and appliances. The Movers Lead is involved in the relocation, distribution and inventory of items designated for Staff as well as International or Domestic student families. The successful candidate will be required to respond and schedule Work Order requests. The Movers Lead will manage a group of Scholarship students and possibly an assistant to complete work requests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High degree of professionalism and organization
- Proven inventory control skills
- 2+ years’ experience with Moving work
- Reliable and able to work some weekends
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift objects from 80 to 100 pounds
Special Duties and Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty the trash as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, Respond and schedule Work Order requests
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
- Patrol Campus each morning to evaluate needs for residential dumpsters
- If Dumpsters or Recycling bins are over-filled, trash is to be relocated to other dumpsters to maintain clean areas
- Gather and empty trash in cans located outside of Commercial buildings and in park areas
- Maintain a working inventory of the following items:
- Bed frames and mattresses for incoming Students and Families
- Office furniture: desks, lamps, tables, chairs
- Trailers and tie-down straps
- Travel off-site to pick up Furniture donations
- Travel off-site to pick up material orders
- Manage and oversee Office relocations for staff members
- Manage and Oversee the set up and tear down of tables and chairs for all Institute events
- Manage and oversee the set up and tear down of tables and chairs for Outside events
- Maintain all dollies, lifts, straps, blankets, ropes and all equipment that is required to do this scope of work
- Oversee Scholarship students and ensure they are utilizing proper techniques and adhering to safety protocols while moving or lifting heavy items
- Provide and deliver work performance evaluations for assistants and Student workers as required
- Provide information to Facilities Manager if damage or issues are seen that require repairs or Maintenance for any location on campus
- Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to work, including vans, industrial trucks
- Follow procedures for the use of equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures during work
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
- Provide the Removal and Replacement of appliances such as Refrigerators and Stoves.
- Clear trash and debris from grounds as necessary
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals (as weather requires)
- Perform essential maintenance to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.

- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
- Role may support other departments as requested by Facilities Manager or executive team
- Manage the disposal of old Appliances and Construction debris as required
- Job may require duties after hours or on weekends as required
